Violet Harkless Celebrates 90! {Surprise!!!}

By 5:30pm on Saturday evening, the Henderson civic center was full of family(many from other states), friends, community members, and even the Mayor of Henderson. Over 100 people joined in one place- to celebrate the 90th birthday of Violet Harkless. That basically tells you the kind of person Violet Harkless is, and the way she has lived her life- full of love, family, God, caring for others, giving of herself, and trying to make this world a better place. And boy was she surprised!! The look on her face when she realized the people who had traveled to see her was priceless!

I only met her when Brian and I started dating, and immediately she was Grandma Harkless to me.  It has been a blessing to get to know her, and spend time with her over the past four years, and I always feel so blessed to be a part of this family.

Happy Birthday Grandma Harkless! Here is to 90 more years! :)

Paula + Joshua {Engagements at Kemah Boardwalk}

Everyone meet Paula and Joshua! They got engaged at the Kemah Boardwalk, so we figured it would be the perfect place to do their engagement photos!! When I woke up on Tuesday morning the weather forecast for Kemah was 80% chance of rain. Never a good thing when you are planning on shooting pictures outside! But, Paula decided that we should take a chance and meet up anyway, and I am SO glad we did. It was cloudy and a bit muggy, but the rain held off until the very end of the shoot. The good news about bad weather at the Kemah Boardwalk during the week? We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! I had so much fun doing this shoot and Paula and Joshua were so patient with all of my ideas! I can't wait for the big day next June! Congrats on your engagement you two! Enjoy!

Caleb Turns 2!!!

Everyone meet the precious Caleb! We met up last weekend, just the day after his birthday, to get his 2 year photos.  I knew it was going to be a great session when I saw that Caleb had brought his friend "Woody" from Toy Story along! Caleb was shy at first, but he warmed up quick, and was all smiles by the end of the session.  He especially loved the sock monkey I brought out at the end, and was so sweet hugging and kissing on it! :) Happy Birthday, Caleb! Thanks for letting me capture this special time in your life!

Santa, Baby- Mini Session Giveaway Contest!

I promised that when I hit 300 "likes" on facebook I would have another session giveaway contest, and I made it!! So, in honor of reaching 300 and in honor of the upcoming holidays, I figured I would help get everyone in the holiday spirit (since the stores have been celebrating it since Labor Day!). Time to dig out your santa photos!!! Here is how it works:

2. Post a funny/silly/cute picture of someone you love with Santa Claus (your child, your dog, yourself as a kid, whatever you like) to the Ever After Photography Facebook page.
3. Be sure and tag yourself in the photo
4. Post it to your page, and tell all your friends to go vote on your photo. BUT make sure they also like the Ever After Photography page.  If they like your photo, but dont like the page, their vote will not count.

The Swann Family

Everyone meet the Swann family! Mark was a groomsman in our wedding, and I met he and Melissa not long after Brian and I started dating 4 years ago. I have been dying for quite some time to get them in front of my camera- they have two of the most adorable boys you will ever meet, and they are just a beautiful family, inside and out. So, this past weekend, with marshmallows and candy as bribing tools, and some amazing weather on our side, we met up for some family photos in time for the holidays.  I had a great time shooting these, and can't stop smiling every time I am going through the images.  Here are just a few of my favorites!
