Mims-Thompson Wedding {5226 Elm}

I now introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Thomspon!!

Melissa and Patrick got married over Memorial Day weekend, and it was a truly beautiful day. Melissa and Patrick are probably one of the most laid back couples I have ever met. It rained during their engagement photos- not a problem, lets just take pictures with an umbrella. The town car didn't show up on time to pick them up after the wedding- no problem, we will just hang out and take more pictures and catch a ride where we are going. They were a true example of what weddings should be all about. Another wedding photographer once told me that too many people focus on the what instead of the why. Melissa and Patrick definitely focused on the "why". Such a beautiful couple surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and love. Oh, and did I mention that they have the most adorable daughter ever!!

A few of my favorite things from this wedding: Melissa's blue shoes, and her amazing hair/makeup; the look on Patrick's face when he saw Melissa for the first time (see below); mashed potatoes in martini glasses; the groom giving us a left over bottle of patron after the reception (SWEET!). :)

A special thanks to my awesome second shooter for catching some of the great shots below!

Congrats again Melissa and Patrick! I wish you nothing but the best and wish you a long life of love and happiness together! Thank you so much for letting us share in your special day!!

Nina+John {Engagements- Studio Movie Grill+Sawyer Park}

I always love when couples want to do their engagement sessions somewhere that is meaningful to them. This was definitely no exception! When Nina and John asked me to do their engagement photos I knew right away that we needed to do some at the movie theater, and was super excited when they agreed! It just so happens that John works at Studio Movie Grill, so thats where we decided to go! After we shot there, we went to Sawyer Park on Washington, which is where John and Nina met each other. The managers there were a little concerned at first when they saw us with our cameras taking pictures in the front of their bar, but when we told them why we were there, they offered us free drinks!! Pretty cool if you ask me. :) It was pretty crowded so we shot a few there, and then headed to Eleanor Tinsley park down the street for a few shots to wrap it up. I had so much fun doing these pictures!! Congrats again Nina and John and thanks for being troopers! :)
